Abstrakt: The solution algorithm presented in this paper does not scale well with increasing number of Fourier modes/processors, because it requires excessive amounts of communication. This is not a major source of concern to us, as the current parallel implementation is only an intermediate step towards the development of a more efficient version based upon a parallel algebraic multi-grid solver. Our numerical results nevertheless show that the obtained speed-up is already sufficient to achieve acceptable performance on a selfassembled linux cluster with relatively slow connectivity.
