Abstrakt: The article focuses on the transfer of ownership of the Weltzheimer House in Oberlin, Ohio to art historian Ellen H. Johnson on May 3, 1968. Johnson had been professor of Modern Art at Oberlin College since the 1940s. Following the departure of the Weltzheimers, the house had undergone reconstruction between 1963 and 1968. The house was purchased by Johnson in order to save it from further destruction. Of the three owners of the house, Johnson was the only one who worked to preserve it as Wright intended. Changes made by Johnson to the house are grouped into three: major and minor changes needed to restore the house to its original state, repairs made to maintain the structure and functioning of the house and minor alterations intended to make the house her own.
