The article discusses the highlights of the second annual conference of feminist activism and art titled "The Illustrated Woman," held in San Francisco, California from February 4 to 5, 1994. Theater artist Brenda Wong Aoki provided a performance as a real-life nursing mother in one of the biologically-determined sequences of the conference. A prose piece entitled "The Fiction of Masculinity" was read by visual artist Millie Wilson. Performance artists Maria St. John and Carla Kirkwood addressed mental health issues via theory and performance. |
