Abstrakt: This article offers information regarding the monastic heritage created by Buddhists on the hill of Sanchi in Central India. It discusses that between the third century B.C. and the twelfth century A.D., the great monastic heritage created by devout Buddhists on Sanchi commands a unique position among the Buddhist structural complexes of India. Moreover, it boasts of several monuments including apsidal chaitya hall, stupas, monasteries, temples, and free-standing pillars with superb sculpted capitals.
