An interview with U.S. music composer Leonard Rosenman is presented. When asked about how he got involved with film music, he said director Elia Kazan asked him to score "East of Eden" starring James Dean after the actor took Kazan to one of his concerts. He explains that in scoring the finale for "A Man Called Horse," he put together all the original Indian material with a giant chorus and orchestra and played them all in counterpoint. He admits that producers and directors often give him suggestions on the type of music they want in the film. |
