Abstrakt: The article describes a typical counter insurgency day for some U.S. troops in Baghdad, Iraq. Everyday the troops collect neighborhood demographics around the neighborhood where residents are identified, photographed for biometric database and then polled about local conditions such as non existent electricity, trash collections and water supply. Earlier that day, a patrol was hit by a roadside bomb but no one was injured. The troop described it as an "atypical event" for the area being the first explosive device shot against their team.
