Abstrakt: The article reports on Gregory Paradise or Gregoire Paradis, who was one of the strongest men, pound-for-pound on record. Paradise, one of the most remarkable and sensational athletes ever known because of his physical superior skill, was also known as the Cradle of Strongmen. He was the first man to lift double his body weight and can bent-pressed 250 pounds. His physical skill is a result of weight training which eventually leads him to win $1,000 in a 1928 contest. Having a hard job in a shoe-manufacturing factory resulted to the develop of his ability to bend quarters and enhance his skill to alternately press two 100-pound dumbbells 10 times with each arm. He died on November 27, 195 at the age 50 after suffering from brain tumor.
