Abstrakt: The article discusses in detail the making of the commercial spot "Evolution," by Michelob Golden. The simian lip-sync was accomplished through the application of computer animation by Rhythm & Hues. The talking chimpanzee was realized by overlaying an animated, three-dimensional computer generated face on top of a live-action chimp. The chimp named Sally features a head sculpture marked with lines and her facial features were traced with a digitizing pen in order to create a full range of expressions. The live-action shoot was directed by Randy Roberts of Rhythm & Hues.
