The article reports on the study which investigates the association aberrant crypt foci (ACF) in predicting distal polyp histopathology. It is stated that ACT are commonly used as a surrogate marker for colorectal cancer chemoprevention studies in rodents. It attempts to determine the importance of ACF in predicting poly histopathology in human. It is revealed that the small flat ACFs correlate with the presence of distal adenoma, while large raised ACFs correlate with hyperplastic polyps. |
