The article focuses on the work of Swedish artist Ann-Sofi Sidén which revolves around the interconnected theme of sexuality, violence, madness and woman. Her two major exhibitions include "Warte Mal!" which tackles about female prostitution, and "QM, I think I call her QM," which combines the Queen of Mud figure from her performances on insanity through the American psychiatrist, Alice E. Fabian's heroic advocacy against incipient paranoia. Moreover, Sidén's work usually examines the relationship between violence and the role of women in a patriarchy-dominated environment. |
