Abstrakt: The article features the prominent uses of pre-Hispanic textiles in Peru. It has been believed that an understanding of costume is essential to their full interpretation. In this context, the author presents the burial cache of twenty sets of lea style miniature women's tunics and shawls found in the Nasca drainage on the south coast of Peru and datable to the time of the Inca occupation. It is considered as a unique archaeological association and it provides valuable information about both women's costume and the function of one type of full-sized patterned textile.
