The article discusses the need for social workers to focus on values and ethics in order to achieve their vision and goals in the U.S. It states that this aim is supported by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), which mandates the general content of social work education programs and the integration of values and ethics into the academic preparation of graduates. Accordingly, it believes that social work is more than just a profession. Moreover, it says that social workers play a role in combating social problems such as alienation, oppression, poverty and discrimination. |
