Abstrakt: A profile of Josephine Baker, a dancer, singer, actress and international black female sex symbol, is presented. She was born in 1906 in poverty in a slum area of Saint Louis, Missouri. She was famous for her glamorous and extravagant lifestyle and willing to break the rules related to sex. She never acknowledged publicly being lesbian and bisexual and did not openly support GLBTQ civil rights.
