The article presents a collection of essays from writing program administrators who address the questions of how much the writing program administration (WPA) experience has changed throughout what has been already termed as the first and second generations of the professionalized WPA. It explores the administrators' range of positions, in terms of institutional types, job descriptions, and tenure status. It also informs the administrators' professional reflections, which begun in the 2002 CCCC workshop entitled "The Intellectual Work of the WPA," that led the group to challenge the assumption of progress implicit in many WPA professional development narratives. |
