Abstrakt: | The article presents a repertoire collection dedicated to the late William Waterhouse in deep appreciation of his unique contributions to bassoon literature, scholarship and organology. It notes that this compilation is limited to vocal works written between 1700 and 1850, in which the bassoon has an obbligato, prominent continuo or orchestral role. Samples of these include the BWV 159 cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach, and works of Georg Philipp Telemann and Christoph Graupner. |
