The article discusses developments in milk carton packaging. According to the author, most milk packages have adopted straightforward, conservative design strategies that rely on symmetry, simple use of two or three flat colors. The author adds that the visual impact of most milk carton designs result not from the appearance of an individual package but of many of them in a row, as displayed in the supermarket. She notes that the use of color to distinguish milk varieties within brands heightens the visual impact of the milk section of the dairy aisle. |
