The author reflects on the obscurity in government communication in the U.S., which in her opinion, is costly, time-consuming and annoying. She argues that obscure writing makes it hard for government agencies to fulfill their missions effectively and efficiently. She asserts that when government communications are obscure, agencies have to write second documents to elucidate the original obscure document. She stresses the need for government writers to change the way they think about communication with the public. |
