Abstrakt: Chapter four of the book "Postmodern Cross-Culturalism & Politicization in U.S. Latina Literature: From Ana Castillo to Julia Alvarez" is presented. It explores the emergence of oppositional geopoliticized identities as a reaction to conditions of repressive state control and as a way to cease both individual and social oppression. It examines the novels "In Search of Bernabé," by Graciela Limóns and "Mother Tongue," by Demetria Martínez to illustrate a development of differential identities.
