Chapter 1 of the book "Foundations of American Political Thought" is presented. It discusses transplantation, autonomy and self-determination in the U.S. political system and government. It notes that the system of government in the British North American settlements was modeled from the system and social behavior of British colonists. It states that the British North American government involves the rule of law, direct and indirect participation in assemblies, supremacy of the central government, separation of the state and church and class distinction. |
