The author discusses several ways equipment manufacturers and owners can make it easier for thieves to steal construction equipment. According to the author, having a universal key will enable every criminal to access machines. He also points out that the industry does not pay attention to using immobilisers or tracking devices and physical security for that matter. He also adds that removing the pre-purchase stolen equipment check will make it easier to sell stolen equipment to buyers. |
