The article presents the opinion of several artists on the kinds of political action that should be taken by artists. Jo Baer believes that political action should not inhibit art-making and considers art a powerful effector of choice and action. According to Walter Darby Bannard, artists are better off out of politics. Robert Smithson stresses that the artist does not need to respond to the deepening political crisis in the U.S. |
