Chapter 4B of the book "Distraction Osteogenesis of the Facial Skeleton" is presented. It presents information on four-megahertz radiowave surgery. It is different from conventional electrosurgery,electrocautery, or diathermy surgery. With this type of surgery, no electrical contact needs to be made between the patient and the neutral antenna. Some of its advantages in cosmetic surgery are decreased heat and lateral tissue damage, controlled hemostasis, and adaptability of specialized electrodes. |
