The article discusses the association between animal abuse and abuse in humans. Various cases demonstrating the presence of animal cruelty and human abuse in several households are presented. The Humane Coalition Against Violence, co-founded by Lynn Loar, aims to teach people, especially social workers, regarding the link between animal and human abuse. Loar also reports that alertness to animal neglect and abuse in families that social workers visit will enable a them to appropriately evaluate the human abuse more efficiently. |
