Abstrakt: Chapter 4 of the book "Oral Cancer--American Cancer Society, Atlas of Clinical Oncology," 5th edition is presented. It surveys oral diagnosis used in determining the existence of cancer. The signs and symptoms of oral carcinoma are ulceration, erythema, induration, fixation, chronicity, lymphadenopathy and leukoplakia. It details the methods used in the examination process which include different biopsy techniques, oral cytology, and staining method with the use of toluidine blue to increase accuracy of findings.
