The article presents an experiment using the "Game-Catalogue: An Educational Approach to Exhibition Viewing," which aims to find an effective technique in enhancing children's ability to make critical judgment. The first part of the catalogue encourages viewers to examine their reasons for attending the exhibit, what they expect, and their responses to the art they are going to see in the exhibition. The next part is the game itself, which is a series of activities focusing on description, interaction with the pieces, and judgment. The researchers feel that the experiment is significant if employed in school situations. They think that it is a good way to reinforce the powers of observation and use these powers as the basis for training in the critical process. |
