Abstrakt: Traces the emergence of bronze statuettes in Renaissance Italy as an art form and their arrival into Spain, the first record of which is documented in Charles V's 1561 inventory. The author details other 16th-17th-century works that now form part of the collection at the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid.
