Abstrakt: Huck covered a lot of issues on Hannity & Colmes tonight.First off, Huck is asked about the Confederate flag issue in South Carolina. Huck doesn’t take the bait and refuses to take sides on the issue, asking instead why - with all the other problems this country is facing - this flag issue is being brought up.And he makes a pretty good point. On the specific issue of the flag, I couldn’t agree with Huckabee more. We’ve got more important issues to talk about this campaign season. What’s more, the flag is a state issue not a federal issue. Huckabee’s push-back here is refreshing. That being said, it’s worth asking why Huckabee thinks we have an “serious unemployment problem” when we’ve been at a level of unemployment most economists consider to be full employment for years now. Maybe that’s just something populists have to say.Huckabee also manages to transition the flag issue into criticism of McCain/Feingold, except what he has to say isn’t the typical criticism you hear of that legislation from conservatives. Conservatives say that the limitations McCain/Feingold puts on the ability of independent political groups to criticize candidates go too far, even to the point of being unconstitutional.Huckabee makes it sound as though he feels those limitations don’t go far enough. Which echoes comments he made in that vein just a few days ago. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
