Included in this bibliography are 2207 references that were collected in conjunction with an ongoing research project at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Studies in Criminology and Criminal Law; this project involves the analysis of biological and environmental factors associated with crime and violence in a sample of over 9000 subjects. Entries in the bibliography have been drawn from several disciplines, with the following three major sources: (1) publications dealing with the center's data; (2) major social science and medical abstracts; and (3) bibliographies and abstracts obtained from an on‐line literature search carried out by the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) of the National Institute of Justice. On‐line literature searches were conducted in four databases: MEDLARS (the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System): Psychological Abstracts; Sociological Abstracts; and the Social Science Citation Index.
