The article focuses on the stained glass windows designed by architectural glass artist Elizabeth Devereaux for the Saint Bartholomew Catholic Church in Columbus, Indiana. Devereaux minimized the influences of morning light and shadow cast by the bell tower on the East window by using diffused opal rather than transparent glass. For the color, the artist used blues and teals for the East Window while warm rose and purple tones are used for the North Window. The window design evokes the sails of a ship. The artist also designed the Eucharistic Reservation Chapel door and window. |
