The article focuses on the mukhalinga collection found in Maharashtra region, India. According to the author, mukhalinga is sprinkled with water or milk, and adorned with garlands of flowers, which were placed over stone linga to serve as daily acts of veneration. It also states that mukhalinga is associated with the god Siva and hero-warriors or viras. The author suggests that the skilled master-crafts person, who made the last mukhalinga, poured emotions and beauty in it which transcends the characteristics of popular art. |
