Abstrakt: The article presents a study which examined the role of the Mre11-Rad50-Nbs1 (MRN) genes in determining breast cancer susceptibility. The materials and methods used are described, as well as the risk profile of the subjects. The study revealed that genotypic polymorphisms of the MRN genes were jointly associated with an increased cancer risk. It also provided evidence supporting a contribution of MRN genes to tumorigenesis.
