The article examines the usefulness of motorized knapsack mistblowers in controlling pests in cocoa. The authors explain that a combination of air assistance and production of small droplets enable motorized mistblowers to achieve good coverage. They cite the use of the sprayer in Ghana to control capsids in cocoa. They observe that the success of the pest control management strategy in the country lies with the grower's eagerness to implement it on an area-wide basis. Moreover, they also note the important role played by innovative equipment to the success of a pest control strategy. |
