The article discusses the pharmacological treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF), particularly the systolic left ventricular dysfunction. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), CHF affects about 5 million people in the U.S. An overview of the Five Million Lives campaign launched by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in partnership with the American College of Cardiology is also offered. The 7 key indicators of quality measures suggested by IHI are also mentioned. |
