The article focuses on the Communications Electronics Research, Development and Engineering (CERDEC) at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. It is one of the development centers of the U.S. Army's Research, Development and Engineering Command. Information is presented on the advantages of the Soldier Radio Waveform developed by CERDEC with ITT Corp. Engineers at CERDEC have also developed a 6-inch flat antenna to replace the whip antenna on all Army radios. INSET: Keeping Soldiers Safe. |
