The article presents a tribute from four-time European javelin champion Steve Backley to British athletics promoter Andy Norman who died in September 2007 at age 64. Backley said that Norman was his mentor and that he helped him and other athletes by providing equipment and paying for warm-weather training. According to the author, Norman managed top athletes including Steve Ovett, Linford Christine and Backley. |
