Abstrakt: Violence in close-relations is a serious problem in Finland affecting mostly women. Political pressure to take a strict stand against violence in close-relations is increasingly present. One form of intervention strategy is currently been developed in Finland. It includes co-operation between different authorities, for example the police and emergency hospital units. Key element of the co-operation is a form filled in by the medical staff. The form covers plenty of information on injuries and the assault providing useful data for criminal process especially. My study aims to analyse the data collected with the forms and to give descriptive knowledge of the violence. Second aim is to form a process description of the cases in criminal process and at the social services. The data consists of 400 assaults, information of which has been recorded on the form at the hospital. Research data will also include crime and pre-trial investigation reports, prosecutor and court decisions as well as decisions made by the social services regarding child welfare. The research project is currently under process and the work will be finished by the end of this year. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
