| Abstrakt: | Information about the Ad Hoc Conference of Directors of Prison Administration (CDAF) and Probation Service in Rome that was held on November 25 to 27, 2004 is presented. Topics include the alternative sanctions and measures with special reference to conditional release, updating the European prison rules, and the long-term sentence. The conference featured several experts in prison administration, including Dirk van Zyl Smit, Riccardo Turrini Vita, and Silvia Casale. |
