The article focuses on the controversial exhibits that comes from the Phoenix Art Museum in Arizona. It has been noted that an exhibit there of the American flag in contemporary art triggered any forms of protests including attempts to dismantle certain artworks, angry public statements from both House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Republican Bob Dole. According to the protesters, including military veterans, such artworks were a desecration of the American flag, obscene, and even pornographic. |
