Abstrakt: | The article discusses the works of Eric Fischl, Thomas Lawson, Walter Robinson and Michael Zwack. According to the author, these artists have in common, like the use of found images and how they use paint and drawing. They have found the idea of a picture to be useful way of reconciling the inroads that abstraction has made into representational art with the desire to paint figures. The author added that these artists have not been diverted by the legacy of formalist criticism. |
