Abstrakt: |
The article reports on the transformation of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from contaminated industrial landscape to clean and livable city which was awarded by National Building Museum in Washington D.C. in 1943. The clean-up campaign was started upon the launching of urban renewal projects and antipollution campaigns to restore the waterfront, clean the air and reattract business downtown. Pittsburgh has planned to construct infrastructures in 4.5 million square-foot site for commercial development. |
