Abstrakt: The article reflects on the purpose of the art works by painter/baby boomer James Ormsby. The characteristics of baby boomers are outlined. It describes Ormsby's use of pencil and brush marks, colors, natural pigments and oils, and graphite and ink materials. It explores the purpose of Ormsby's use of motif and multiple traditions in his work. An overview of the similarities in the work of Ormsby and John Bevan Ford, one of Ormsby's mentors, is presented.
