An interview with several principals of U.S. architectural firms about their experiences in working in Europe and Asia is presented. Harold L. Adams, chairman of RTKL discusses the challenge of setting up an overseas office and recruiting foreign personnel. Erik Sueberkrop, principal of Studios, describes the procedures for getting a project approved by planning commissions and local authorities. Benjamin and Jane Thompson of Benjamin Thompson & Associates relate the frequency by which principals travel abroad to supervise overseas operations. |
