Abstrakt: The article focuses on New Guinea masks and other items which were made using the core fabrication techniques of plaiting, coiling, twining and looping. Details of the helmet shape Sawos mask are outlined. The masks from Tami Islands were made from fern and other plant fibres. Details of the string bags made by the Mountain Ok people are outlined.
