The article cites the causes of bigeminy. Such condition is referred as a cardiac arrhytmia distinguished by 2 beats in rapid succession ensued by a longer interval. It is said that in a 3:2 Wenckeback conduction, every 3rd P waves fail to conduct to the ventricles, causing a pause and creating a bigeminal pattern of 2 beats followed by a longer interval. It is stated that the escape capture bigeminy in a patient with sick sinus syndrome is caused by a combination of the escape junctional beat followed by the sinus capture beat. |
