| Abstrakt: | The article reports that a research team from the Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) at CSIRO identified a new strain of virus named after Melaka, the area of Malaysia where the disease was identified. The scientists found that the Melaka virus fitted into the category of reoviruses known to be carried by bats. Melaka's chief minister Ali Rustum called the name choice an insult. |
