The article reports on the announcement of the Standards Engineering Society and the World Standards Day Planning Committee that the theme for the 2007 World Standards Day Paper Competition is "Standards and the global village." The theme recognizes the global consensus-building capacity of standards developing organizations. The competition covers papers that show ways that organizations have encouraged and created global consensus for the economic and social benefit of the global village. |
