The author describes how she makes her wood carvings. For the wood spirits featured in the article, she said that she used parts of the branches for the nose, tail and arms. She carved a simple pointed cap, some hair, and a beard; and used a small V tool to make the hair. She said that this is one kind of project a carver can do if he had only one or two simple tools and limited materials. |
