Abstrakt: The article examines the role of the "author" in the book "Du Hérisson," by Éric Chevillard. In this book, Chevillard attempts to write his own autobiography, but is surprised to find a porcupine that comes to sit at his desk. The presence of the porcupine was unexpected but quickly becomes inescapable for the author. The article analyses how "Du Hérisson" fits into the genre of autobiography and fiction. The notion of "autofiction" is also discussed. The author argues that Chevillard's work as well as "Roland Barthes," by Roland Barthes and "Fils," by Serge Doubrovsky are works of autobiography.
