More than "Meanmedianmode" and a Bar Graph: What's Needed to Have a Statistical Conversation?

Abstrakt: The article presents a study that investigates the problems of students in the use of statistics and data analysis. According to the author, the lack of clarity about what content to address has resulted in instructional practices being poorly defined. To addressed such problem, much of the research in statistics education was focused for what grades K-12 students should know and be able to do with respect to data analysis and statistics and to defining the nature of instruction needed to support these directions. Moreover, the pointed that one way to develop problems to encourage the use of statistics and data analysis is to be an information gatherer.
