The article focuses on the efforts of nonprofit organization Thrive to introduce a gardening advisory service for older people to help develop their independence and maintain their well-being. The Neighbourhood Garden Advisors Scheme (NGAS) was a project run by Thrive in partnership with Help the Aged which took on clients with disabilities that affected their gardening capacity. Thrive published "Creating Gardening Independence," a toolkit that guides people in forming a scheme similar to NGAS. |
